Working Girl
If you’ve read my previous update, then you’ll know that I am currently an intern for a fashion magazine. Today after class, I headed straight to the office (I love saying “the office,” it has a sophisticated ring to it) to begin my third day on the job. The Editorial Assistant (who happens to be the person I report to, therefore my boss), made it clear from day one that...

velvetrobots: How can you say that Rand is a bad writer if you’ve never read her? You would honestly just take another person’s opinion and adopt it as your own? Frankly, yes. I do it all the time. It’s not as strange as you’d think. It’s also what happens when you read in general. Also, as I’ve said, these critics aren’t ordinary people enjoying a novel and then blabbering about it afterward....

Update
I haven’t been online in forever, which is a really good thing for me actually. No matter how much fun I have spending my waking hours on the internet, I always feel a bit pathetic every time I log off and I know that being online was all I did for that day. I just don’t like the feeling of being so attached to things, especially not to technology. I know technology helps us in so many...

I feel like our generation missed out on so many...
We have technology, sure. And we have good cartoons and TV shows. But I think I’d like the other stuff please…the stuff our parents had that we’re never going to have (and I’m not talking about Martial Law memories here)… I watched another round of Almost Famous this evening, and it hit me with more pain and power than ever, the fact that I was born way too late, in,...

Almost Famous
I watched it today for the first time and I know, I just know that if I’d have seen it when I was in High School, I would’ve set my energies towards being a rock journalist. I loved everything about the film…the characters (Russell Hammond looks so MUCH like George Harrison, and Penny Lane is who I think would be if I had more guts), the music (Nancy Wilson is a goddess), the...

Regarding why Mr. Krabs daughter is a whale:
chiliramon: voiceofjoyce: sabbb: failbag: deadashistory: The difference between her and her father in terms of species has never been addressed; possible theories include that Mr. Krabs was once married to a whale or that Pearl was adopted, though these are mere speculation. In the episode “Whale of a Birthday”, it could be proven that Pearl was not adopted, since Mr. Krabs had a banner...

A Dream for Winter
In the winter, we shall travel in a little pink railway carriage With blue cushions. We shall be comfortable. A nest of mad kisses lies in wait In each soft corner. You will close your eyes, so as not to see, through the glass, The evening shadows pulling faces. Those snarling monsters, a population Of black devils and black wolves. Then you’ll feel your cheek scratched… A...

uhhlexis: wonderlandholiday: I figured, the best way for me to really learn the language is to use it right? So I registered at mylanguageexchange.com. On a more serious note
One of my high school teachers, Ms. Samonte, passed away today. In my high school, she was famous for looking like Mrs. Puff from Spongebob, having a third eye and a sixth sense, telling fortunes and being incredibly nice, albeit quite strict. She was my elective adviser, and she gave me the first and only 100 to appear on my report card. R.I.P.

velvetrobots: wonderlandholiday: Awww! I wish we had fun exercises in our Creative Writing class too :( What was your Creative Writing class like, Mandy? It was pretty straight to the point, which was okay. I just wish they hadn’t divided the term between two teachers. I felt like it was all rushed, and like we could’ve done better and gotten higher grades if we had more time...

Renga
On his Renga exchange with Dr. Evasco, Mr. Fleites said that it was wonderful to wake up every morning to a message you have to reply to in poetry. Just the idea of exchanging several lines of poetry with a friend, or, even more exciting, a stranger, butterflies me. I would like to experience this myself, on a much more amateur level, of course. Anyone up for it? e-mail me: lago_amanda@yahoo.com
