Thank you so much for being so kind. I was extremely nervous and so very excited to interview (interrogate?) you, and it probably showed, but you were very pleasant and very accomodating. I am so so grateful. In fact I am so extremely grateful that I can practically feel the gratitude welling up at the base of my throat!
Thank you for answering the questions with stories. It was definitely the funnest, most engaging interview I’ve heard or done. Then again, I think a boring interview would be beyond your capabilities!
Thank you for championing Philippine “unrealism.” Our local literary world is now that much wider, that much deeper and that much more interesting.
Most importantly, thank you for the monsters, and thank you for the magic. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

There is no feeling quite like meeting your favorite author. Right now I’m still reeling, and I met him about 5 hours ago. I feel half like a screaming fangirl who just met her celebrity crush and half like a lowly mortal from ancient Greek times who called upon the gods for supplication and found herself in the presence of one. Was that a good allusion? No, okay, well, the feeling’s kind of like, on the one hand I’m a screaming fan, on the other, I’m a silent oracle ready to receive whatever magic rubs off from the author to myself. I guess there’s no better way to express the experience than by saying that meeting your favorite author is exactly that, it’s meeting your favorite author.
It’s just so awesome.
